The 18th Journée de Marketing Horloger (JIMH) is heading this year on the watch design. From internal design to the external, passing through new trends, the event will concentrate to pin down the fundamentals that make a watch an icon. The appointment is given for Thursday, December 4, 2014 in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Registration is open on www.marketinghorloger.ch.

The Taj Mahal, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Agbar Tower, the Eames chair, the Bic lighter, the Mini, the Apple Watch… By which Phenomenon these monuments and iconic objects impose themselves (or promise to impose!) in our landscape and in our daily lives? These are the types of questions around design and specifically related to watchmaking, that the 18th edition of the Journée de Marketing Horloger (JIMH) will attempt to provide answers next Thursday, December 4th in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

With such a timely topic and universal program the 18th JIMH gives a particular importance to the rich and varied contributions including: a conference on aesthetic conventions of design; another on its staging in the digital world; yet another that will decrypt the signals for the new trends. In addition to lectures, we could also mention the roundtable discussion on “Segmented vision of design” which will invite representatives of other industrial sectors to exchange experiences, or the duel “viewpoints” that confronts the vision of two renowned watch designers.

The JIMH is aimed at marketing professionals, researchers, bloggers, the trend scouts and all fans of the timepiece industry. A further note that the 9th Journée de Recherche en Marketing Horloger (JRMH) will present studies on the same topic on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Haute école de gestion Arc Neuchâtel.

Program and online registration on www.marketinghorloger.ch.
