The Chief Executive Officers of twelve Fine Watchmaking Maisons, along with their skilled artisans and precious creations will return to Hong Kong from September 30th through October 3rd this year at the HKCEC. Their commitment to the Watches&Wonders concept, a visionary undertaking of the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie, has been strengthened not only by a high visitor turnout during the first two editions, but also by enthusiastic feedback on the event’s singular nature.
« The spirit behind fine watchmaking is one of continued innovation, » says Fabienne Lupo, Chairwoman and Managing Director of the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie. « And this event is a good reflection of that spirit because the concept is new and it’s designed to meet the needs of an ever changing world. That’s why we think it really can be the fine watchmaking rendez-vous in Asia that no one will want to miss. »
The event runs for four full days during Golden Week and offers a chance to see the newest collections from some of the best watchmaking Maisons, along with an opportunity to gain insight into what goes into the making of the stunning timepieces and a chance to meet the people behind the products. All of this unfolds in a relaxed atmosphere of beauty, sophistication and refinement.
Watches&Wonders 2014 drew some 16,000 visitors, 10,500 guests and 800 journalists. “We’re proud of these figures, but more proud of the fact that we’ve been able to gather together the many different strands of Fine Watchmaking to create something new and different,” Fabienne Lupo says.
“We always solicit feedback from our visitors and listen carefully to them. Naturally, we retain our basic format and philosophy, but we also continue to develop the experiences on offer, such as workshops, didactic and cultural activities and spaces for encounter and exchange. That’s where the magic of Watches&Wonders happens, and we’re looking very forward to another opportunity to bring that magic to life once again. So mark your calendars!”
