RM 011 le Mans Classic Limited Edition

The Le Mans Classic, to be held this year on the 11, 12 & 13 July 2008, is a biennial vintage sports car event comprising a three-day enthusiastic celebration of half a century of motor racing. It isheld on the historic grounds of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the place where some of the world’s greatest drivers and cars wrote racing history. A fundamental principle of the Le Mans Classic event centers on a series of races for original cars that had previously competed at the 24 hours of Le Mans, or similar cars of the same models. Only cars from prior to 1979 are allowed, with all cars being classified into six different eras. The premiere revival of the Le Mans Classic event in 2002 represented the first time since 1923 that the full 24 hour Circuit, including the public sections of road, were closed specifically for an event other than the annual running of the 24 heures du Mans. Since then it has run every two years in July. The races are a unique experience, allowing car owners and gentleman drivers to experience what it must have been to race these cars on the actual circuit.

As in previous Le Mans Classic races, Richard Mille Watches is again the main sponsor of this unique event that fits perfectly with the brand’s active participation with the world of active motor sports.

This year the event takes on yet another dimension: the release of a special edition RM011 Flyback Chronograph that celebrates the Le Mans Classic event in true style. With its green carbon fiber flange around the edge of the dial and the trademark white and green checkered Le Mans Classic log located under 12 o’clock, this special version RM 011 Flyback chronograph embodies all the history and synergy that so closely bonds timekeeping and car racing together.

The RM 011 Flyback Chronograph- Le Mans Classic Limited Edition is available in 100 pieces in full titanium and 30 pieces in 18 carat red gold/titanium from selected Richard Mille dealers and boutiques worldwide. ■
