The new Aquanaut and Aquanaut Luce
With the new stainless steel bracelet for the men’s Aquanaut Ref. 5167/1 and the seductive “Honey Beige” hue of the ladies’ Aquanaut Luce, Patek Philippe presents two appealing refinements of its youthfully casual watch line.

Patek Philippe created a stainless steel bracelet expressly for the extra-large Aquanaut launched last year. It is based on a totally new construction that highlights the Aquanaut theme and emphasizes its sturdy physique. While the composite Tropical straps projected an integral look, the new steel bracelet forms a striking contrast with the case, enhancing the expressiveness of the charcoal dial. It may seem a small change, but it dramatically refreshes the spirit of the Ref. 5167/1.
The bracelet is composed of links with different finishes that gracefully amplify the reflections of the case. Like its bezel, the wide middle links are satin-finished. The narrower outer links are mirror-polished to match the top side of the caseband. The bracelet features a double-security fold-over clasp that is easy to open and close, and assures a comfortable fit on the wrist.
The case itself, reminiscent of a ship’s porthole, is a gently rounded octagon with lateral ridges that protect the crown. Its balanced proportions are accented by the sheen of the satin-finished bezel. The case, water-resistant to 120 meters, has a screwed back with a sapphire-crystal window that reveals the mechanical manufacture movement, the famous self-winding caliber 324 S C with sweep seconds and an aperture date. Crafted to the most rigorous standards of the Geneva workshops, the movement is endowed with a high-inertia central rotor in 21K yellow gold and a large Gyromax balance wheel that beats with a frequency of 4 Hertz (28,800 vph).
Aquanaut Luce: New finesse with the trendy “Honey Beige”
One of the endearing annual rituals meanwhile associated with the Aquanaut collection is the announcement of a new color for the dials and the straps of the Aquanaut Luce ladies’ models. This year, it is the mellow “Honey Beige” hue that is also receiving a lot of attention in the world of fashion. The legacy colors “Mysterious Black” and “Pure White” are still available as well.
With its delicately textured dial, a color-coordinated strap made of the practically indestructible “Tropical” high-tech composite, the comfortable fold-over clasp, and a dazzling complement of flawless rare white Top Wesselton round diamonds, the Aquanaut Luce is Patek Philippe’s ultimate companion for the casually elegant woman. It is available in two different versions: as the Aquanaut Luce Ref. 5067 in steel with a diamond-set bezel and as the Aquanaut Luce Haute Joaillerie Ref. 5069 in white gold fully set with diamonds totaling about 4.33 ct.
The Aquanaut Luce Ref. 5067 in stainless steel has a bezel that sparkles with the fire of 46 flawless Top Wesselton round diamonds with an aggregate weight of 1 ct. The case is water¬resistant to 120 meters. It accommodates the Patek Philippe caliber E23 S C quartz movement with sweep seconds and an aperture date. Its graceful yet extremely tough “Tropical” high-tech composite strap is fitted with a stainless steel fold-over clasp.
The Aquanaut Luce Ref. 5069 haute joaillerie model comes in an 18K white-gold case; both the bezel and the caseband are pavé-set with 387 flawless Top Wesselton round diamonds totaling about 3.63 ct. The screw-down crown is adorned with a diamond cabochon of about 0.14 ct., while the white gold-fold-over clasp on the rugged “Tropical” strap projects the gleam of 86 diamonds totaling 0.56 ct. Only rarely are diamonds of this exquisite quality found in such a casual context. After all, even in this haute joaillerie version, the Aquanaut Luce is exceptionally robust. In particular, it is water-resistant to 120 meters, thanks to the screwed display back with the sapphire crystal window that showcases the self-winding caliber 330 S C movement. Powered by a 21K gold rotor.
