Michael Wunderman, President of Montres Corum Sarl, announced today that he is returning home to California in order to preside over the distribution of the brand in North America. After relocating seven years ago to the origins of watch making in Switzerland, Wunderman has been instrumental in defining the current global strategy for the luxury brand with a focus on product design and brand communication.

“The experience of living in Switzerland and re-building Corum to the successful brand that it is today has been challenging and rewarding for me. The direction in which the brand is now moving is clearly defined for the future. Our operational structure is strong and I no longer need to be involved in the day-to-day of the company. My focus will be to continue to build on the brand success of North America and I am excited to be reunited with my family after so many years abroad,” Wunderman stated.

While continuing to work on the Creation Committee of Corum in Switzerland, he will also remain on the company’s Executive Board as Vice-Chairman alongside his father, Severin Wunderman, Chairman of Montres Corum Sàrl and founder of Gucci Timepieces.

The younger Wunderman replaces Stacie Orloff as President of Corum USA. Orloff has worked with the Wunderman family for 25 years and has been instrumental in the success of Corum USA as well as Gucci Timepieces.

“It’s been my privilege to be an integral part of the launch and successful growth of the Corum brand in North America,” Orloff stated.

Immediate changes to the structure of Corum USA also include the promotion of Johnny Wizman to the post of Vice President of Sales. Johnny is Severin’s nephew and Michael’s cousin and has been working with the family for over ten years. Scott Nichols will also be promoted to Vice President of Operations of Corum USA. Scott was formerly the CFO of Corum’s global operations. He will return back to California to concentrate fulltime on the North American business with Michael.

Antonio Calce, CEO of Montres Corum Sàrl, will continue to manage the operations in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. ■
