Alexander Gubsky

Alexander Gubsky has devoted his career to journalism. After graduating at Moscow State University, Faculty of Journalism, he joined Independent Media in 1995, the largest newspaper group in Russia with a fifty publications list. Hired as the first reporter of Capital, a new weekly newspaper, he became Deputy Editor in 1998 and the Editor of Capital a year later. At the same time, Alexander Gubsky took part in elaboration of Vedomosti daily business newspaper concept. The decision to issue Vedomosti was made by Independent Media, Dow Jones and Pearson shareholders in December 1998. Since 1999 Alexander Gubsky has been Deputy Editor of this must read publication for Russian decision-makers. ■

Presentation of the Cultural Council

The Cultural Council is the cultural voice of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH). It has responsibility for defining the Foundation's scope with respect both to its members and its activities, to then take the message and values of Technical and Precious Fine Watchmaking into the world.

The 16 members of the Cultural Council are independent personalities, acknowledged for their professionalism and expertise. They represent retailers, journalists, specialists and collectors, alongside representatives of the founders.

"Questions to the Cultural Council" alerts the Council's members to subjects that are of legitimate interest to any admirer of fine watches.
