Rachel Khoo is a never-ending inspiration: true slasher – superstar TV Chef, businesswoman, entrepreneur, traveller, writer – Rachel Khoo raised a worldwide fame in 2012 as she brought us into her compact-home in the TV series ‘The Little Paris Kitchen’. This ode to her unique take on French cuisine also became the smallest restaurant in the world.
Having recently launched lifestyle webzine and venture Khoollect, Rachel Khoo now finds herself sharing with the world special moments and experiences around food, travel, beauty and people. As you know, Grande Cuisine has a fine relationship with time… and who best than Rachel Khoo to share with us some insights on this ticking relationship?
I try and get up early to exercise and meditate. After having a shower and sitting down to a cup of tea is probably when I feel best.
Of course! Although I think we live in a day and age where ‘matchy matchy’ style is not necessary.
I try to. It’s not easy. I’ve recently taken to meditating in the morning thanks to an app my team at Khoollect recommended to me (not sure if they were trying to tell me something)! It definitely helps setting aside some time each day, to really focus on the now. It’s so easy to get swept away.
I always think you should have a watch which can live your life with you, without having to be precious about it.
What I care about is finding out about what makes people 'tick'.
People who can inspire me. ‘Finding inspiration in unlikely places’ is the tagline of Khoollect and is the motto I go by. I’m not really fussed about people’s backgrounds/age or sex. What I care about is finding out about what makes people ‘tick’.
Bill Cunningham once said ‘those who seek beauty will find it’ – a true reflection of finding inspiration in unlikely places.
