Benoît Mintiens, industrial designer, launches Ressence in 2010. The Belgian brand rapidly becomes popular with collectors seeking alternative and independent watch-making approaches. The philosophy underlying his house creations can be summarised in two words: purity and modernism. Ressence is short for "Renaissance of the essential", essential here meaning to display the time.
Benoît Mintiens, industrial designer, establishes Ressence in Belgium.
Ressence unveils for the first time the patented invention upon which its new expression of the time is based: ROCS – which stands for the Ressence Orbital Convex System found on the Zeros watch serie
The Type 5 watch is introduced. The rotating ring on case back watch base replaces the crown for calibration and setting the time.
More slender and slightly smaller than the other Ressence watches, Type 12 plays the mixing card.
