Seiko

Established in Tokyo by Kintaro Hattori in 1881, the Seiko name stands for performance, innovation and high-tech, and the Japanese firm has indeed made a habit of claiming world-firsts. A pioneering inventor of breakthrough technologies, Seiko has earned its place in the ultra-select circle of fine watchmakers. Kintaro Hattori launched the Seikosha watch brand, later shortened to Seiko.

1960

The Grand Seiko created by Daini Seikosha and Suwa Seikosha, two subsidiaries of Seiko Corporation that were already producing quality watches (the Crown and the Chronos).

1990

Seiko presented the Scubamaster, the first dive watch with depth gauge.

2005

Launch of the Kinetic perpetual movement.
