Girard-Perregaux has been announced as Official Watch Partner of luxury British automotive manufacturer, Aston Martin. The two brands will collaborate on upcoming limited-edition timepieces. The race against the clock has captivated fans of motorsport for over 100 years, while the measurement of time has challenged watchmakers throughout history. The similarities between both domains are clear to see. Both Aston Martin and Girard-Perregaux were founded by visionaries with an innate passion. Aston Martin was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, while Girard-Perregaux can trace its origins to 1791 when Jean-François Bautte, aged just 19, produced his first watch.
Richard Mille partners with Ferrari
Richard Mille is delighted to announce its new partnership with one of the world’s most iconic brands – Ferrari. Founded in 1947 by the legendary Enzo Ferrari, the company has always been ahead of the field, driving towards excellence both on and off the track. Vacheron Constantin partners with Watchfinder
The Manufacture offers a new way to purchase Vacheron Constantin timepieces from U.S. boutiques in New York, Beverly Hills, South Coast Plaza, and Miami. In partnership with Watchfinder, the renowned retailer of certified pre-owned watches, clients can now take advantage of a trade-in service by selling the watches they already own in exchange for the timepiece of their dreams. First, clients will bring the watch they hope to resell to a dedicated Vacheron Constantin boutique. On-site, a knowledgeable sales associate will provide a pre-valuation, support clients through the exchange process, and assist in the selection of a new Vacheron Constantin timepiece. Upon pre-valuation acceptance, the sales associate will arrange for the condition & authenticity of the client’s existing watch to be appraised, with appraisal turnaround times ranging from one day to one week. Last, the agreed trade-in value will then be redeemed towards the purchase of a new Vacheron Constantin timepiece.
IWC and Mercedes open a concept store in Hong Kong
IWC Schaffhausen announces the opening of Haus. The Swiss luxury brand’s first-ever concept store has been created in partnership with Mercedes- Benz Hong Kong and will deliver a unique customer experience. In addition to a contemporary showroom and retail lounge, Haus features a bar and restaurant curated by Tatler Dining Kitchen and a membership program with many exclusive benefits for members. Initially, the concept store will focus on IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, two of the most recognizable icons from both brands. IWC and Mercedes-Benz have enjoyed a successful partnership for many years. They first joined forces in 2004, when IWC became a partner of Mercedes- AMG, the high-performance brand of Mercedes-Benz. In 2013, IWC became the “Official Engineering Partner” of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula One team.
Jaquet Droz joins the Responsible Jewellery Council
With a commitment to continuous improvement in its business and, after reviewing its systems and practices, Jaquet Droz has officially been awarded the RJC Certification following an independent external audit. The RJC is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2005. Its mission is to establish standards for a responsible global supply chain, promoting confidence across the entire jewelry and watch industry. As a fully independent organization, it individually certifies that each of its members adopts environmental, social, ethical and responsible practices in their sourcing and use of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum), diamonds and colored gemstones. With its certification, Jaquet Droz joins other brands in the Swatch Group, including Omega and Harry Winston.
Parmigiani appoints Guido Terreni as new CEO
The Board of Directors of Parmigiani Fleurier announces the appointment of Guido Terreni as CEO. He is to replace Davide Traxler, who has decided to pursue professional opportunities outside the Group after two and a half years at the helm of the Company. These changes will take effect immediately. Mr. Traxler will also resign with immediate effect from the boards of directors of Parmigiani’s distribution companies, where he will also be replaced by Mr. Terreni. A native of Milan, Guido Terreni, aged 51, is of dual Swiss-Italian nationality and graduated in Economics at the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. He has gained 25 years of professional experience both within an international company under family management and at major international groups like Bulgari.
TAG Heuer and Porsche
The Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer and the German sportscar manufacturer Porsche have announced their new partnership: an authentic alliance between two brands whose common DNA in motorsports and racing forges a holistic and long-term collaboration ranging from competition to product development. A new watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph, is unveiled as first celebration of the iconic brands. Along with the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph, 2021 will feature a rich portfolio of joint projects that reflect TAG Heuer’s and Porsche’s shared commitment to speed and precision sports.
