A concentration of luxe interiors, highly-prized materials, exceptional accessories, gem-studded details and custom-made finishes conjuring Bulgari’s savoir faire, its name could be no other than Mai troppo. Inspired by Bulgari’s birthplace Rome, B.500 By Bulgari “Mai Troppo” incorporates the colours and the exceptional light of the Eternal City. Its metallic paint in Imperial Saffron is obtained through the integration of a special gold dust, the highly precious scraps of the jewels’ manufacturing process coming from Bulgari’s production site in Valenza. Inspired by the travertine junctions of the Roman roads, Bulgari’s jewellery motif Parentesi is here reimagined to personalize the engine front grid. In a nod to Bulgari’s iconic eight-pointed star, the shimmering wheel rims are conceived as rays of golden light. Inside, the dashboard is covered in colourful silk, hand-painted with the Maison’s iconic motifs. In contrast with the exterior, the seats are decked with octane leather, finished with a refined shade on shade embroidery recalling the pattern of the dashboard and a golden outline.
A diva on its own right, “Mai Troppo” is endowed with a tailor-made jewellery case and hat box in white calf leather skin and colourful leather frames, all finished with Parentesi handles. Once more applying a conscious approach in the use of materials, Bulgari realizes the two coffrets with the precious cut outs of its handbags and leather goods, gifting them a new life. Crafted in gold, the car wearable key is a jewel itself: an ancient coin set at its core celebrates Bulgari’s Monete collection, while its sides flaunt an openwork game composing the Maison’s logo. The jewel car is signed with the dedicated B.500 logo, featuring Bulgari’s eight-pointed star at its core and mounted with a dazzling diamond pavé, while on the steering wheel a diamond-set logo embellished with a spectacular gem combination of amethyst, citrine and topaz can be detached and worn as a brooch.
The car will be presented along with two other special collaborations centred on Italian creativity between Fiat New 500 and Armani for the world of fashion, and Kartell as a leading brand in the design industry. The three one-of-a-kind masterpieces will be auctioned in July 2020.
