IWC Schaffhausen and the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation have marked the 80th anniversary of Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s historic flight across the Atlantic, with an exhibition at the IWC Boutique in New York. The Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Chronograph Edition “80 Years Flight to New York” commemorates this event.
The Italian couture house has called on Girard-Perregaux to create a watch to mark its centennial year. The result is an annual calendar model, signed by the couturier and inspired by the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Annual Calendar and Equation of Time.
Dior pays tribute to Monsieur Dior, whose lucky number was eight, with the introduction of a new model to its Christal line. Ergo this latest timepiece has eight time zones and is proposed as a limited edition of eight.
Since the start of the year, shares in luxury groups have followed an upward trend, driven by excellent financial results. Analysts are now predicting 5% to 10% growth for the sector for the twelve months of 2010. Clearly luxury has put the crisis behind it.
