The first Happy Diamonds creation was a gents watch with a large cushion-shaped 18-carat white gold case framing a black dial magnificently highlighting the first moving diamonds. This first creation, which won the prestigious Golden Rose of Baden-Baden in 1976, has inspired a model celebrating the 40th anniversary of the invention of moving diamonds.
Paying tribute to the original cushion shape, but this time designed for ladies, today’s Happy Diamonds watch is a precious jewelled timepiece exuding a vintage charm mixed with a contemporary feel. The prong-set diamonds circling the dial emphasise its gentle curves, while moving diamonds whirl freely across a textured white mother-of-pearl background. Chopard is introducing a new type of Happy Diamonds: diamonds set with prongs, to sparkle even more while continuing their free and playful dance. There are more diamonds than ever on the dial and they also vary in size, thereby accentuating their whirling dance and the sense of diamond-studded profusion. Inside this playground, a mini subdial, also ringed with diamonds, bears the watch hands. This precious timepiece also exists in a round-shaped version.
