Created in 1993 by Chopard’s Co-President Caroline Scheufele, the Happy Sport watch embodies the Joie de Vivre. Julia Roberts was then chosen as the perfect person to front the new Happy Diamonds campaign for Chopard as she is the epitome of sunshine.

To celebrate the new partnership, Scheufele has coordinated a creative collaboration, bringing together the worlds of fashion, film and music in a short film that infuse a joy and happiness. It’s also set to be straight-up cinematic, thanks to the singular touch of French film ingénue Xavier Dolan, who served as producer and director. Styled by Roberts’ long-time fashion collaborator, Elizabeth Stewart, and set to a soundtrack of Paloma Faith’s Upside Down, Chopard has said the film is a culmination of Scheufele’s background as a trained dancer, her love of cinema and vision as an Artistic Director.

Happy Sport the First - The rebirth of the 1993 icon

Created in 1993 in an innovative alliance between steel and diamonds, Happy Sport has survived almost three decades while preserving every ounce of its charm and modernity. Chopard now presents Happy Sport the First: two 1,993 and 788-piece limited-edition re-releases of the very first watch presented when the collection was launched. They pay faithful homage to this icon, thanks to its legendary diamonds and its “pebble-link” bracelet, while adding major innovations: a new case in Lucent Steel A223 redesigned in a 33mm diameter inspired by the principles of the golden ratio, as well as the Manufacture Chopard 09.01-C movement with automatic winding.
