While Macbeth bid stars to hide their fires, watchmakers are determined to let their movements shine in full view. Skeleton watches have continued to gain ground in recent years, and are back with a vengeance this season. Watchmakers deploy a wealth of expertise when reducing components to barely-there levels. This is an exercise that requires both skill and nerve, and which leaves us in awe before these light-filled, whirring sculptures.
