Nature provides infinite inspiration for Harry Winston. A flurry of snow beneath a glistening moon becomes the canvas for this timepiece. The chocolate-coloured mother-of-pearl dial is set into a pink gold case.

A keen observer of nature, Mr. Winston developed his signature clustering technique after admiring the way snowflakes settled on a decorative holly wreath. His philosophy of freeing diamonds from cumbersome and rigid metal settings has prevailed throughout the history of the House and reflects his desire to let Mother Nature’s marvels shine with the utmost brilliance. Gem-setters at Harry Winston have painted a delightful winter scene on the dial, as 214 brilliant-cut diamonds, in varying sizes, fall, like snow, from the sky. To recreate a captivating snowfall, the House’s expert gem-setters returned to the art of snow-setting. By playing on variations in stone size, and carefully setting the diamonds side by side, the House’s master craftsmen were able to minimize the appearance of metal and maximize each stone’s fire.

The decision to decorate the dial with mother-of-pearl is yet another tribute to nature. With a unique lustre and natural iridescence, mother-of-pearl dials are now considered something of an in-house signature at Harry Winston. An exceedingly delicate and fragile material, mother-of-pearl must be handled with precision and care. The House has mastered the technique of slicing nacre into wafer-thin slivers and perforating it for gem-setting, when necessary. The sumptuous, rich chocolate color of the mother-of-pearl provides the perfect contrast to the 18-karat rose gold case and icy diamonds. The moon phase function, suspended in a crescent-shaped aperture, provides another visual treat, as the domed, golden moon completes its monthly orbit accompanied by beautiful stars. The enchanting dial also features a diamond-accented hour marker at 9 o’clock, slim tapered hour and minute hands, and Harry Winston’s 18-karat gold emerald-cut logo at 12 o’clock. A date window and the moon phase aperture are enhanced with a golden frame to match the case.

The Midnight Collection is characterized by the timeless appeal of its classic round cases. The 39mm rose gold case of the Midnight Chocolate Diamond Drops is the perfect frame for this work of art and sparkles with 91 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the bezel and lugs. The signature codes of the brand are firmly in place, as three larger-sized diamonds, set near the crown, recall the shape of the famous arched doorway of Harry Winston’s New York Flagship Salon. The timepiece is fitted with a high-end Swiss quartz movement, designed for carefree maintenance, and comes with a seamless pearly alligator leather strap that echoes the color of the chocolate dial and attaches at the wrist with an 18-karat rose gold ardillon buckle.
