New straps crafted from tiny black or white crystal beads mixed with molten polymer and lined with rubber adorn Roger Dubuis’ Velvet Haute Couture. A world-first.

Driven by Roger Dubuis’ creativity, respect for tradition and a commitment to quality, backed by the experience in working with unprecedented materials, Velvet continues its trajectory between Haute Joaillerie and a timekeeping focus. The contemporary Velvet collection cultivates the art of the extravagant, and plays out with graphic motifs on dials, subtly distorting the shapes of cases, turning lugs into precious links. Mechanically powered like all Roger Dubuis’ feminine models, these models dance to the beat of an automatic RD830 calibre.

Coupled with the collection’s signature diamond-studded white or pink gold cases, Velvet brings an attractive choice of straps and dials. Each will enable women to express their mood of the day. Graced with striking colour contrasts, shimmering mother-of-pearl or darkly black lacquer, the distinctive faces of these models feature feminine flourishes. Their distinctive Haute Couture origins are showcased through a choice of spectacularly sparkling straps made of miniscule black or white crystal marbles. In addition to its appealing sparkling effect, this unique and innovative material picks up the light in an inimitably elegant manner. Drawing upon its technical skill and expertise in working with ‘disruptive ‘materials, Roger Dubuis now leverages its recent motorsports experience by transforming a polymer into a rubber-lined molten material sprinkled with light-reflecting “spangled dust”. This then hardens, creating a wholly 21st century material that closely resembles a stunningly elegant fabric – but isn’t.
