Making a mountain out of a name
Montblanc began life, in Germany, as a manufacturer of writing instruments. The company, like one of its first fountain pens, introduced in 1910, is named after the highest peak in the Alps. This same summit is engraved on the back of the watches launched this year in the 1858 collection – a connection that has no real justification beyond a shared name.
