For the SIHH 2014, the Maison is unveiling four new Midnight Constellations models. Different winged creatures – Pegasus, Phoenix, Gallus and Aquila – are depicted in this set of timepieces for men.

To depict the depth of the sky along with all the symbolic power of the constellations, the Maison has combined different traditional crafts within each dial. While engraving and sculpture on gold provide the motifs with spectacular effects of relief and texture, the champlevé and vallonné enameling techniques add color. The plumage of the Phoenix, with its flamboyant volutes, offers a subtle palette of warm tones ranging from yellow to orangey-red, while Gallus is adorned with a gradation of blue, green and mauve, forming a harmony with the mother-of-pearl’s ever-changing overtones.

The backgrounds in lapis lazuli, carnelian, mother-of-pearl or onyx have called for carefully selected stones that meet the Maison’s standards of excellence – as have the diamonds. Set within golden stars, they evoke the sparkle of the constellations in the sky. Finally, the back of each watch features an engraving of the piece’s motif along with the constellation’s Latin name.
