Texte disponible uniquement en anglais – For the second time in India, a watch-making training programme was held by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) in Bangalore and Delhi.  A total of 52 watch retail staff from brands and retailers were trained by a Swiss Trainer Ms. Veronique Walthers, who flew in from Geneva especially for conducting the programme.

Held on August 4th & 5th at Ritz Carlton, Bangalore and August 6th at ITC Maurya in New Delhi, the training programme focussed on the workings of a mechanical watch. It explained the different concepts and terms used in the world of fine watchmaking to reinforce the knowledge and confidence of sales personnel at both a retail and wholesale level.

Such programmes are necessary and should be organised at least once a year.
Mr. Sharjeel Khan

Mr. Sharjeel Khan, Director at Zimson Times Pvt Limited, a watch retail company with stores across Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore was happy with the programme. He said: “It was a useful session in revisiting the basics of watchmaking. Such programmes are necessary and should be organised at least once a year.”

Khatri, who is FHH Mission Delegate for India said, “The encouraging feedback from the participants has reinforced our belief that such programmes are needed. We will try to organise two programmes every year.”
